Nov 29th 2006 Newsletter.
Just like the old days! Early openings, face shots and
skiing out in November.
For the past month the weird weather has been causing
havoc in Vancouver and other mainland spots - floods, black outs etc, but all
this moisture has meant constant snow and a huge base to start our season.
Everyone in Whistler is psyched over the conditions and you can feel the
electricity in the air when you walk through the village - Lots of tired, happy
faces sitting around the cafes and restaurants talking about the days adventures
over good food and drinks.
The new lift to the Flute bowl has almost finished its
load tests and it looks like the Dec.15 open target is going to be met. I'll let
you all know what the skiing was like on the 16th.
Work has been done on the roads out from the back country
so it should make our hiking even easier! Since I am now in the velcro ski team,
anything which means less walking is good. This season looks to be one which will go down in the
books, if you get the chance, don't hesitate and come and do some turns - you
won't regret it.
See you on the hill! - Geoff
