June 2008 Newsletter.

What a season we had this year! Deep powder days and great guests to enjoy it with.

We had alot of groups this season taking over the whole lodge during the season.

The Canadian Luge team has been using our lodge as their base and I have to tell you that the guys and girls that do the sport are crazy,  140km + and 3 cm above the ice! The sound these guys make when they fly down the new track is something you don't want to miss. I hope with the home track advantage we'll see our team on the podium in 2010.

I'm not a surfer, but when Taylor Steele from www.poorspecimen.com decided to rent out the lodge for his 10th anniversary film gathering, I had to hang out.(I googled Taylor - he's the grandfather of the business) Benji Weatherly, Kelly Slater, Taylor Knox and a whole wack of other surf gods hung out for 10 days, snowboarding and filming the fun. Jake Burton from Burton Snowboards dropped by and gave everyone tons of boards and swag for the boys. It was cool, I never met an icon before.For a gazzillionaire he is very relaxed, goes back to my theory that the mountains keep everyone cool.

Benji Weatherly is coming out with a new video this summer, I think its got a shot of him snowboarding off the roof of the lodge - check it out.

June now and no summer yet, I've hardly been out on my bike at all this spring, still early though, I should be around most of the summer, if you are in the area, give me a call.
